简介： 　　FortwoyearsBBCcamerashavefollowed,DrSheperdDoelemanoftheSmithsonianAstrophysicalObservatoryandtheworkoftheEventHorizonTelescopeprojectteam,acollectiveofthetopscientificmindsfromaroundtheworld.Theprojectcombinesradioobservatoriesandtelescopefacilitiesfromaroundtheworldtomakeupavirtualtelescopewithadiameterspanningtheentireplanet.Thismega-telescope’sultimatemissionistocapturethefirstimageeverofablackhole.Althoughtheconceptofblackholeshasbeenlongassumedtobefact,theEventHorizonTelescope’ssuccesswoulddefinitivelyprovetheexistenceofthisscientificphenomenaforthefirsttime–andprovideclearvisualevidence.　　Theprogrammebringsviewersintothelaboratories,behindthecomputerscreensandbesidethetelescopesofwhatmayprovetobeoneofthegreatastrophysicalachievementsinhumanhistory.
